Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 27, 2026
The short version. Stand shows your photos to other people so they can vote on them in duels, and gives you ranks from those votes. That is the whole point of Stand, so the photos you add are seen by other users. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other sites or apps. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time.
This policy covers Stand on the web (standranked.com) and the Stand app. It explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. Stand is operated by Roméo Robard ("Stand", "we", "us"), who is the data controller. If you have a question, write to [email protected].
1. What we collect
What you give us
- Sign-in. You sign in with Apple or Google. They give us a private identifier that stays the same each time you sign in. Google may also give us your email address and first name; Apple does not give us your name or email on the web. We never see your Apple or Google password.
- Profile. Your first name, your @username, your bio if you write one, your sex, your date of birth (to check you are 18 or older), your country, and the language you use Stand in (so your notifications are written in it).
- Photos and clips. The photos you add in each category (Face, Fitness, Style, Wealth), the short clips you take instead of a photo where available (a few seconds, no sound), and your profile photo if you choose one.
- Couple. If you link your profile with your partner's, the link between your two accounts.
- What you do on Stand. The duels you vote on and the choices you make, your friends and friend requests, the people you follow, challenges, reactions, the messages you send to friends, invite codes you use or share, and the people you block or report.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, we store a token for your device or browser so we can tell you about new messages, friend requests and challenges. You can turn them off anytime in your device or browser settings.
- Messages to us. Anything you send to our email.
What is created from your activity
- Ranks. Your ranks come from how other people vote on your photos. They are computed automatically and are the opinion of other users at a given moment, nothing more.
- Photo fingerprints. A short code computed from each photo, so that the same photo posted again keeps its votes. It is not used to recognize faces.
- Fairness statistics. We keep statistics about votes (for example, how often a voter agrees with others) to detect abuse and keep rankings fair. These are not shown to anyone.
- Usage statistics. Counts such as how many people sign up, come back and vote each day, computed from the activity above. We don't use any outside analytics or advertising service.
- Technical data. Like any website, our providers receive your IP address and basic device and browser information when you connect.
We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, your photo library (only the photos you take), advertising identifiers, or data from other sites or apps.
Storage on your device
Stand keeps your sign-in session and a few settings in your browser's storage so you stay signed in. This is needed for Stand to work. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, so there is nothing to accept or refuse.
2. Who can see what
- Other Stand users see your category photos and first name in duels and rankings, your rank card and your ranks, and your profile page: profile photo, first name, @username, bio, and who follows you and who you follow. Your profile is public by default; you can make it private in Settings, and then nobody new can follow you (your photos still play in duels). Your friends also see your challenges with them and the messages you send them. If you link with a partner, other users can see you as a couple.
- Moderators see reported content (photos, messages, profiles) to review it.
- Nobody sees your date of birth, your email, the votes you cast, or who you blocked or reported.
Keep in mind that anyone who sees your photos could take a screenshot. Only add photos you are comfortable showing to strangers.
3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- To run Stand: create your account, show your photos in duels, compute ranks, and run friends, followers, challenges, couples and messages. (Performance of our contract with you.)
- To keep Stand safe: check age, refuse slurs and names or bios that promote hate or porn, review reports, remove content that breaks the rules, block abuse and fake votes. (Our legitimate interest in a safe community, and our legal obligations.)
- To answer you when you contact us. (Our legitimate interest, or your request.)
- To understand how Stand is used, fix bugs and improve it. (Our legitimate interest.)
We don't sell your personal information, don't share it for targeted advertising, and don't use your photos to train AI.
4. Service providers
We use a few companies to run Stand. They process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase hosts our database and stores photos, on servers in the United States.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and delivers it.
- Apple and Google provide sign-in.
- On the app version: Apple distributes the app and Expo delivers updates and push notifications.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of Stand (you would be told).
5. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete account), we delete your profile, photos and clips, ranks, duels, friends, followers, challenges, reactions and messages right away. Reports you made about other people are kept without your identity so moderation stays consistent. Technical logs kept by our providers are deleted after a short period.
6. Your choices and rights
- On Stand: change your name, @username, bio and profile photo, make your profile private, remove or replace photos, block people, and delete your account.
- By email: ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion at [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.
- EU, EEA and UK: you can access, correct and delete your data, restrict or object to its use, ask for a portable copy, and complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL: cnil.fr).
- US residents (for example, California): you can ask to know, correct or delete your personal information. We don't sell or share it for cross-context advertising. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
7. Age
Stand is only for people 18 and older. We ask for your date of birth at sign-up and don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we delete the account. If you think a minor is using Stand, report the profile on Stand or email us.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, photo files are private and served through links that expire, and access to data is restricted by user. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
9. International transfers
Stand's servers are in the United States. If you use Stand from another country, including from the EU, your data is transferred there, under the safeguards our providers offer for international transfers (such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell you on Stand when the change is important.
